Śrem is located in the central part of Wielkopolska region. The distance separating it from Poznań, a city that is a very important European industrial, trade, cultural and science centre, is only 40 km.
The hospital gives medical services within 13 departments, 7 laboratories and 2 clinics. It is one of the most dynamically developing hospitals in the Wielkopolska region. Through the renovation and systematically introduced organizational changes it can be already said today that this hospital, in a particular scope of its services, gains the name of a leader.
The services that are developing with the highest pace include the orthopedic surgery offered by the orthopedic and traumatologic department. This department uses the latest achievements of medicine and medical techniques. Its scope includes: diagnostics, operational and post operational treatment connected with illnesses and injuries of upper and lower limb joints and spinal column.

The above mentioned procedures include the operation together with providing necessary artificial limbs and initial rehabilitation enabling the patient to function independently after the operation. In case the rehabilitation needed prolonging ( e.g.: above 7 days after a transplantation of a hip joint ) there is a possibility of transferring the patient on a temporary basis to the rehabilitation department or the caring and treatment facility for the purpose of continuing the rehabilitation by the same rehabilitation unit.

Service procedure for foreign patients:
1. The patient has to get a written consent from their insurer for performing the treatment in the hospital in Śrem within the framework of health insurance
2. The patient has to have documents (in accordance with valid formats in the native country of the patient) qualifying for the given treatment
3. The patient or the insurer has to contact the representative of the hospital in order to agree on the date of the treatment and other requirements enabling the usage of services of the hospital in Śrem
4. The day before the treatment, the patient will receive consultation from the doctors from the hospital in Śrem
5. Between the consultation and the treatment, the patient will be accommodated in a hotel situated next to the hospital
6. In the morning the patients will be admitted to the Orthopaedics Department in the hospital
7. The treatment ? hospitalization
8. Ensuring rehabilitation enabling the patient to function independently ? stay even up to 10 days
9. End of the stay in the hospital
10. Issuance of the medical documentation (Hospital extract/transcript and Information Card in accordance with the valid format in Poland)
Important information:
- The representative of the hospital is at the patients disposal throughout the whole stay
- The patient is under medical?s and nursing personnel care who speak English/German
- During the patient?s stay we provide not only all the necessary medicines but also those which are connected with other illnesses of the patient and require regular usage
- All procedures are provided with the use of the newest medical techniques as well as medical equipment, tools, prosthesis (artificial limbs), and orthopedic materials of the highest quality
